Clinic March 1, 2014 & Registration is Open Online for Spring/Summer 2014 Season
The Wolverine Worldwide YMCA in Belmont (6555 Jupiter Ave. NE, Belmont, MI (near Rockford)) will play host to a spring training clinic on March 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free clinic will feature baseball and softball players from Hope College providing instruction in the gym to help Miracle League players improve their hitting, throwing, and fielding. Registration information will also be available for parents interested in signing up their children to play in the spring. The spring Miracle League season will begin on April 26 at Nate Hurwitz Field and will continue every Saturday (except Memorial Day weekend) through June 7. The fall session will resume in September.
This event is part of the Miracle League’s “Expanding the Miracle” partnership with the Wolverine YMCA. The program will allow Miracle League players the opportunity to participate in indoor sports at the Wolverine YMCA using the same principles from Miracle League baseball – giving children with mental or physical disabilities the chance to play organized sports using volunteer buddies. The Expanding the Miracle program will also include holiday celebrations for Miracle League players and their families.
Families unable to attend spring training are still welcome to register their children at www.wmml.org/play. We will play each Saturday from April 26 through June 7, with the exception of Memorial Day weekend. On-line registration for the Spring 2014 season will run from March 1 through April 4. Scholarships are also available for children who are unable to pay the registration fee. To request a scholarship, please contact Miracle League representatives at email@example.com for more information.
